MY MEMORIES

1983 - Mississippi Years

Retirement (continued)

In 2005 we traded the pickup truck and trailer and upgraded to a motorhome, a 40-foot Winnebago diesel pusher with three sideouts. We added a 16-foot cargo trailer in which to haul the TR7 and bicycles and golf clubs. It was like a mobile home with a garage. The motorhome fit in the RV port just, but the trailer added a problem, where and how to park it. We carved out a parking place in the woods east of the RV port, but getting it in there required a pickup to maneuver it into place. So we bought a small very used pickup for that purpose but it came in very handy for hauling stuff. It lasted a couple years, but finally gave out and we bought a new small Dodge pickup and it was a good thing we did as about this time Nancy was driving our second Cadillac, a big Fleetwood Brougham, and got T-boned. It totaled the car but Nancy survived with a few minor injuries, just bumps and bruises, only because the collision was slightly in front of the passenger compartment.

The Florida winters eventually became four months and we still travelled in the summer for two months. That is what we did again and again until 2015.
